Getting Ready for Ohio

So instead of packing and cleaning before I leave for Ohio, I'm having fun taking pictures of these two baby girls.  I've got to get up and finish packing!!!  I'm going to miss my family while I'm away.  I do get to bring Baylee with me to Ohio and Abby is going to stay with Aunt Laurel for the next 2 weeks.

10 months old!

Baylee got her 1st tooth at 8 months old, her 2nd tooth at 9 months old, and now she has 2 more teeth coming in at 10 months old and all these teeth are on the bottom!  She's a BIG eater and a very healthy size.  She started crawling in June and is now pretty proficient at couch surfing.  She's been able to pull herself up and I think she's on her way to walking very soon. Yesterday she pulled herself up and unloaded our DVD shelf, and she had a very fun time doing it.

Teeth!

Baylee has two, sharp, little teeth coming in on the bottom.  She's boogery, and cranky, and chewing on her fingers and toys all the time now.  She's also scooting and army crawling all over the place now.  The other day she moved under one of our large, round end tables at home and fell asleep.  It was so cute so I just left her there, napping under the furniture.  I think she really likes being mobile now.  She still gets up on her knees like she's going to do the real crawling but wont do it.  She can actually do a bridge though which is really neat.  She arches her back and sticks her bum in the air and straightens her legs so she looks like a bridge.  And her screaming and screeching is constant.  I'm serious when I say we're putting her in singing lessons.  Baylee can reach some good octaves...quite ear piercing I might add.

Her First Tooth!

Baylee cut her first tooth! I first noticed it on June 10th while I was feeding her. It's a sharp little thing on the bottom. Naturally she's chewing on everything to make it feel better. She's been making this funny noise with her mouth too that I couldn't even begin to desribe. Maybe I can catch her doing it on video. She's still quite the screamer and I'm convinced she's going to be a singer. Baylee loves to be tickled and talked to. And she's sitting up completely on her own now. I tried it just a few days ago and she sat there for a long long time. I found it funny because she acted as though she's been able to do it forever and why was I making a big deal out of it. She still prefers to roll herself everywhere instead of actually crawling places.

7 Months Old

Baby Baylee is getting so big!  She skipped right over wearing 6-9 months clothing and is now wearing 12-18 months and even some 2T.  Right now Baylee loves to be in her Johnny up bouncer, excersaucers, and her swing.   She's discovered she can now take her headbands off her head and likes to look at the pretty bows and flowers.  They keep her occupied for the car rides until I can put them back on her head.  Thanks to my friend Amy, Baylee is always blinged out with her bracelets and is well stocked in the hair bow department.  Between me and Amy making baby headbands and bows, I now have a ton.  I love garage sale shopping and craigslist and I've picked up some super cute and even sassy outfits.  My girls are very girly and it's very fun.  Baylee can't quite sit up on her own yet but she's trying hard.  Right now she can scoot backwards so she's somewhat mobile.  She likes to suck on her lips, loves to give and get kisses.  Her little chubby legs like to kick and kick and kick.  The tantrum stage has come a little early in my opinion but it's hard not to laugh at her when she's so mad.  She kicks her legs so hard that her body bounces and she shakes her head back and forth.

6 Months Old!

Baylee had her 6-month check up today. She weighs 17 lbs 10 ozs and is a little over 26" long. She's in the 75% percentile for weight, length, and head measurements. While the doctor was listening to her lungs and her heart she was just staring at him with this expression on her face that you could tell she didn't like a strange man touching her. Baylee was doing fine until he looked at her and then her little serious expression turned quickly into a frown and lots of crying. Then the nurse had to give her 3 shots in her thighs so that started her screaming. I had Abbygail with me and she was crying to be picked up too. I'm not sure I'll schedule two babies at the same time like that again I'm not sure if that was any easier.

Baylee is doing these things at 6 months:
-eating lots of baby food and baby cereal
-sits up with help
-plays with her hands & toes
-sucks on her lips
-rolls over
-pushes herself up while on her tummy
-gets up on her knees and puts her behind in the air
-laughs
-watches baby einstein videos
-sits in her bumbo chair at the table at meal times so she can be with us to eat
-stares at faces
-loves to jump and kick her legs
-grabs for everything in arms reach
-sleeps in her crib in her own room for the whole night
-wearing 12 month clothing (we totally missed out on the 6-9 month clothing)
-lots of talking, babbling, screeching, screaming, squealing...Baylee loves the sound of her own voice
